Are You Sore – Have You Been Stretching?

I’m the World’s worst about stretching.  When my neck hurts, I stretch it.  If not, screw it. (And I’ve broken my neck twice requiring surgery)  And I’m even worse about stretching my legs and upper body.  My credo has always been start slow and finish strong.  Well, for about two weeks my left knee has been killing me, but I never thought of stretching.  Finally, Louis Gear (a trainer of 25 years and my partner in Commando Fitness) said, “stretch out your quads.  It’s probably pulling your knee cap off to the side.”  So I’ve spent 4 minutes a day for the last week stretching my quads and the pain is completely gone.  It was actually gone the first time I stretched.  Don’t be a knuckle head like me.  If you’ve got a sore muscle or joint pain – always try stretching.  Stretch anyway.
