Preventing Cancer with Carotenoids

Carotenoids (derived from the word carrot) are found in dark pigment vegetables, and are the MOST effective antioxidants in nature – proven to strengthen the immune system and help prevent heart disease and cancer – even lung cancer among heavy smokers. Carotenoids provide vitamin A, which we’re unable of producing on our own. Veggies dark with chlorophyll may appear green to the eye, but the carotenoids are still there. The green pigment just overpowers their yellow/orange color. So once again I’m harping on the importance of raw vegetables. Please, eat your veggies!
